A couple years ago I woke up and could not move at all. Like every attempt to make my limbs move felt like I was controlling wet noodles. I started panicking because I thought I had broken my neck in my sleep or something somehow, and there was this howling noise in my ears like all my windows were open and I was in the middle of a hurricane.
Then it went away. I legitimately dunno if it was sleep paralysis or not but I could suddenly control myself again and move fine, and the noise was gone. Nothing like that has happened before or since so Im hoping that was all it was
Ive only had that a couple of times. I was awoken, felt something sitting on my chest, but couldnt move or scream.
That's the symptoms of being visited by Shadow People
What's it called when you wake up and you feel as if you're drowningCould be acid reflux or apnea. I get that sometimes, gasping for air. When it's acid reflux, you should either take some Tums or drink milk to counter the acid. If it's apnea, be thankful you're still alive and consider getting a sleep study.

If it makes you feel a little better, sleep apnea is rarely fatal. Its more that it contributes to heart problems later in life.Yeah, I kind of forgot about the heart issues with apnea. I've had it almost my whole life and my SO urged me to get a sleep test back in 2020, where I learned I stopped breathing multiple times throughout the night, and I got a CPAP afterwards.
Before I treated my sleep apnea Id see giant spiders as big as my room
Once that I remember vividly. Didn't have the weighted down feeling, but I couldn't move and felt like there was an ominous presence approaching me from behind. This, except it actually felt like someone had wrapped their arms around me from behind. I was sleeping on my side. Fucking terrifying. Fortunately, I didn't see anything.
