I love this man. He's one of those truly passionate actors who are so rare to find. Someone who sincerely cares about the characters he embodies and the worlds they live in. If he has a good amount of creative control in this project, I think it will be legendary.
So warhammer is like... an anime? Or some, thing?
So warhammer is like... an anime? Or some, thing? It's a tabletop game with very extensive lore and world building. Tons of books and games exist if you want to learn more. I've never gone into it, myself, but it has a lot of passionate fans.
So warhammer is like... an anime? Or some, thing?Tabletop models, but the game has a MASSIVE amount of lore, one of the more in depth sci fi worlds out there.
Neat, but this seems like way too niche of a source material to expect much success here.Warhammer is huge in nerd culture. They've pumped out tons of books and games, and the miniatures sell well. There's for sure an audience out there.
Plus, even if you've never heard of it, a good trailer for an epic sci-fi series will catch attention.
Warhammer 40k is StarCraft but on a galactic scale.Starcraft was supposed to be a Warhammer 40K game, but Games Workshop (owners of 40K) messed things up somehow, so Starcraft ended up being a "rip-off" of it.

Can't wait for the Furr... I mean The Felinids, also known as Homo Sapien Hirsutus, the "lore" has changed considerable since the 90's....:
On a gaming nerd website people have never even heard of Warhammer beforeAt a certain point, nobody had ever heard of Thanos, either.

Terrans are Space Marines
Zerg are Tyranids
Protoss are Eldar

I live by a local nerd shop/gaming hall and on Warhammer night there will be droves of dudes walking in, strapped with massive totes in front of them like a stadium vendor which has all their Warhammer shit.

40k in particular is the best-selling miniature wargame on the market.I'd really love to see the numbers for this. Not that I doubt it, I'd be shocked if any others were higher, but I'd love to see how ones like X-Wing, Legion, and Warmachine compared in their prime.
Warhammer is no joke.I mean, Robin Williams played it so I'm sure it's partly joke :P
I feel like a lot of people don't even know that Warcraft and Starcraft are basically knock offs of the Warhammer franchise. They evolved separately and there's not a ton of similarity left, but Warhammer and 40k have attained legendary status in the nerd community.Isnt some of it derivative of Mechwarrior/Battletech?

No, that was Warcraft/Warhammer: https://kotaku.com/how-warcraft-was-almost-a-warhammer-game-and-how-that-5929161
Starcraft was never supposed to be a Warhammer 40k game, they'd learnt their lesson, that's an urban legend mostly based on the above story (about Warcraft/Warhammer). Starcraft, very much... goes after a different source, Starship Troopers.
Also, in the original novel Starship Troopers (1959), there's three races -- the Skinnies (Tall grey beings who communicate psychically), The Arachnid/bugs (a communal species, that has biological castes and they won't hesitate to kill thousands of their own like we would use bullets to achieve an objective), and Humans (With giant Mech Tank Suits [ see below])... Does any of that sound familiar?
[below] "A suit isnt a space suit although it can serve as one. It is not primarily armor although the Knights of the Round Table were not armored as well as we are. It isnt a tank but a single M. I. private could take on a squadron of those things and knock them off unassisted if anybody was silly enough to put tanks against M. I. A suit is not a ship but it can fly, a little; on the other hand, neither spaceships nor atmosphere craft can fight against a man in a suit except by saturation bombing of the area he is in (like burning down a house to get one flea!). Contrariwise we can do many things that no ship air, submersible, or space can do."
Isnt some of it derivative of Mechwarrior/Battletech?
So this is extremely far off and theyre nowhere onto starting it....
Henry should do a good job but I dont trust Amazon to not fuck with his work
Ive been hoping hed partner with Brandon Sanderson to give us some Cosmere material, since hes a big Sanderson fan.Who would he play though? I'm so down for this but I can't think of any characters he fits, at least in Stormlight
Well see how this is. Amazon does not have a great track record for fantasy.

Just make him Hoid.Oh ok I'm down
Id much rather see a Warhammer Fantasy show than a 40K show, but Im sure plenty of people will eventually enjoy this.
[Real videos for new Warhammer fans]
I would be more excited about this if it wasnt Amazon. The only two fantasy adaptations theyve done (Rings of Power, Wheel of Time) have been dumpster fires.Well we know Cavill will walk if they screw with the source material like he did with The Witcher.
