Roundabouts with multiple lanes are a pain.We entered together. They were in left lane and I was in the right. They honked when I didn't exit
I probably would have stayed in the right lane as well. Was it someone entering the roundabout that honked or someone already in it?
If youre entering in the green and exiting in the red, and youre entering in the right lane, it looks like you were in the right. People dont pay attention and convince themselves that they always have the right of way, so sometimes they honk at you when they mess up and youre fine. Thanks, I'm just really questioning it due to the directions on the lanes before the roundabout
Okay so, from your starting point, both the left and the right lane can go straight, so it makes sense that you were honked at for trying to go left from the right lane. If a car to your left was going straight while you're going left, that could cause an accident. So yeah, don't do that. What a cluster... Okay thanks for confirming. I hate the idea of trying to exit while crossing a lane of traffic. Afraid it will be hard to see if someone is back there

It seemed like you were in the right until i saw that DOT pic, that's a tricky roundabout for sureI agree, multi lanes seem dangerous or at least force the right lane to run out at the place it should be exiting
All you have to do is shift into the right lane where the first exit is. Then you wont be in the left lane anymore and you wont have to cut anyone off when exiting. And you cant cut anyone off by shifting because the right lane traffic is all going straight out of the exit.Assuming you don't have someone like me that doesn't know what they're doing...lol
Assuming you don't have someone like me that doesn't know what they're doing...lolAssuming that other drivers are competent and able to follow instructions, while not always correct, is usually a pretty necessary part of driving.
Both lanes can exit straight and therefore, not exiting in the right lane impedes the left lane

Edit: I have drawn you a crude diagram in case you are still unsure of how to navigate this particular roundabout (the X is the spot where you will shift to the outside lane)
