My favorite switch game 80 hours in and I'm only on chapter 5
Pyra is on screen basically all the time. Also her voice actress is great I love the way she sounds. She doesn't have a typical anime voice over sound she just talks like a normal person with a soothing voice.
Gameplay is fun as I really enjoy the blade mechanics. Countries are awsome to explore with huge regions and moderately diverse enemy types.

i didn't like the first couple of hours because of technical issues in handheld mode and some inconvenient design decisions, but i grew to like it a lot
waiting for them to patch in ng+ so i can play through it again

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has some real problems and does quite a number of things worse than its predecessors. Gameplay can be more of a hit or miss than previous games. The art style could take some getting used to, and yes, there are plenty of hot girls of a variety of different types.
It's still a great game, not the best in the series in my opinion, but I'd say it's worth a look.

People got upset because of anime tropes and fanservice. If you can get over those it's a good game, and Pyra is awesome.
I loved it a lot. Put 109 hours into it before I beat it, though I still want to go back and do post-game things. For me, it's like:
Gameplay: X > 2 > 1
Story: 2 > 1 > X

I loved it a lot. Put 109 hours into it before I beat it, though I still want to go back and do post-game things. For me, it's like:
Gameplay: X > 2 > 1
Story: 2 > 1 > X

Also if you get the game, download the Japanese voice pack. The dub is pretty bad

Gameplay is the shallowest of the series and story is crap. There are good things about it, but its like they bought a mobile game like fate grand order or Dokkan battle and built their game around it.
You'd better get used to it and adapt, otherwise you fail at evolution and you'll get crap from everyone and eventually go extinct.-stardust999

Haven't played a single Xenoblade game and care nothing about it, so I'm not a good judge here.
I felt like I was watching a dream I'd never wake up from...hmp. Before I knew it, the dream was all over.
It's a lot more fun than the original gameplay wise IMO though the plot is full of stereotypical PS2 era JRPG cliches which can be a big turn off

Its pretty fantastic, there is just an overly loud minority who bitch and whine about everything.
It has its issues, but it's still quite good.

The DLCs pretty much fixed all the issues I had with the game. It was already the best game I played last year (actually trumped my Splatoon 2 playtime lul) and doing another playthrough, it's pretty heavenly. I can't even imagine the game before all the quality of life improvements they made after the release
