Because lyrically it's just garbage. It's clearly someone trying to force faux emotion from a sad song and convey faux emotion. Then from an actual musical perspective it still sucks.

That's not the issue, the issue is that it's blatantly forced and doesn't come off as genuine. The song doesn't really have any actual soul in it.
