You dodge one swing from a bat and it is over.

For example? You do realize you can use a bat to hurt people without taking full swings, right?
Bat
I'll stand several feet away while you try and dash in and out of my range before I smash your head open.

Yea, but it won't do as much damage as a full swing. What might work against an unarmed person certainly won't cut it against someone fighting back with a knife.
knife easily, bat is non lethal or too slow
I'd take the knife because I know I could take a few thwacks but wouldn't be able to deal with a stab
Yaridovich posted...just because you get cut by a knife doesn't mean it's game over have you ever seen somebody getting attacked by machete? Also you never been hit by bat.

This is my line of thought.
If you can block the bat strike with your arm it will break, but you can still fight, you got a chance. If you get slashed it's game over.
Even an idiot flailing a knife can hurt you. Flailing a bat, not so much

psvitantifail posted...I thought you was trying to say they getting slashed was one hit one killed because I've seen several instances where somebody gets slashed by blades/ machetes and still able to walk around and Perry until their arms break unfortunately I can't link that stuff here lol. With bat or a blunt object it seems better because it has more impact and can crack bones more easier.

Getting hit by a bat is most likely a 1 hit KO. If you block the swing with your arm at the right time it will break your arm.
But imagine getting slashed full force even if you block with your arm, there is no coming back.
Tell me more about the machete attack I haven't seen it
Bat with time to prep
But for real though the bat. It has reach and can break bones
And I'd love to see all these people here tanking hits from a bat that is breaking bones and still getting a knife slash off lol
Anybody that uses a bat like, well, a baseball bat is likely going to end up losing the fight. One's goal when using a bat in a melee would be to try to get the other guy to drop their weapon first before going hog wild on them by attacking their arms and hands first.
Saw one fight long time ago (on the internet) of a guy with a machete vs. a long pipe. Guy with pipe won due to range
How is the guy with the bat keeping his distance, exactly? It's not like you can backpedal anywhere near as quickly as you can lunge at somehow.
