I understand when people say that the same people winning all the time is "boring", but sometimes it's par for the course. That's just what winners do, win and dominate. Somebody has to be the loser; All I ask is that they at least TRY to win and not automatically appear defeated before the game even begins

Individual greatness is pretty cool when a guy is so good he drags a team that has no business being good, all the way to a championship.

Team greatness is boring though

Pretty much this. It's thrilling to see a Lionel Messi or a (peak) Tiger Woods be so utterly dominant through skill and utter alien talent that they change the sport and cast obvious fear into everyone around them.

But it's boring when you have say a Barcelona or a Ferrari that wins largely because it has a budget 3000x any of its competitors.

Parity

NHL has improved a lot since they added the salary cap. MLB will keep being a joke until they get one.
