It depends on what you mean by greatest of all time. It had a dramatic impact on gaming culture, sold well, and led to a sequel that was universally praised. I think its core gameplay was pretty solid and quite innovative, but the game was too short imo to be lauded purely for its gameplay.

Overall, i think it is one of the greatest games of all time

Not really. it was essentially a tech demo. I was expecting a new Half Life with the portal gun and instead we got Portal 2.

Yes, and I prefer it to Portal 2. It has a stronger impact with a more concise story and more natural puzzles. Though the gels in Portal 2 are pretty great.
