The animation is very dated. But its still a pretty good movie.
I am awesome and so are you.

Yeah its okay
There is water at the bottom of the ocean
It was only relatively recently that I realized it's literally just Seven Samurai but with bugs. In my defense, the last time I'd seen it was years before I'd even heard of Seven Samurai and I remembered very little about it, but it's kind of funny how obvious it is through adult eyes.

Insect Marxism is the way forward.
I'm not a fan of this, personally.
I preferred Antz

i watched it relatively recently for the first time, it was pretty decent. i saw antz instead as a kid, don't remember much of it though so no clue which i'd prefer.

I like Antz more, but not by much.
Antz is a pretty good cast and movie that kids can enjoy, a bug's life is a good kids movie.
A bug's life can be pretty funny.

Disney adaptations of classic stories taking out the part where everyone dies is pretty standard.

I just found it hilarious that a prey animal (grasshoppers) willingly went into a predator (ants) home, where they would have had limited mobility, have been unable to use their primary method of escape (jumpling/flight), and put themselves at every possible disadvantage.

If this weren't a disney movie, the ants would have massacred the grasshoppers 15 minutes into the movie.

I mean, that's kind of the point: They're relying on intimidating the ants at an individual level to keep them from realizing that they overwhelmingly have the upper hand. That's not particularly consistent with real-world ant or grasshopper psychology, but neither is the fact that they're all talking.
