Registration starts in a few days. I haven't done it since 2021 so the new randomizers interest me. Like the idea of later crystal weights so I don't end up with something like Red Mage,Thief or Berserker again. Might record/stream it for the fun.

Berserker risk is always fun. Sometimes you even get a class loadout that makes them...passable.

Woof. It's fine if you have 1 Berserker. 2 sucks, but 3+plus bard is just terrible.

Yeah that does kinda suck.

I plan on doing it at least once this year. If I get a second run I might do Berserker Risk. I've played FFV enough times I figure I should try the "worst" playthrough lol

It might be a terrible FF team, but it would be a pretty effective D&D team.

Normal settings prevent duplication (unless you sign up for #BERSERKERRISK), but Pure Chaos removed all the rules, including allowing duplicate classes (you get one class per crystal) and OP got spectacularly unlucky .

Generally just a very fun way to play the game as long as you don't get Zerker. I recommend doing a normal run at least one with no obligation to finish it.

One Zerker is fine. Could even be decent with the right load-out. But multiple is miserable.

Is it really that bad? I have not played FFV since it came out on the GBA years ago, so I can't recall if there's a even more bosses that shut down anyone attacking during certain forms/actions.

I only just got past Karnak in my casual replay right now, and I know there's been a couple bosses that will counterattack you for a lot of damage, so I can see that becoming an issue later on too.

The run has finally cracked into World 2 just ahead of hour 4. Having a team of four 'zerkers against Liquid Flame will do that!
...also the semi-obligatory grinding before that and for a Death Sickle or two the harvester enemies on the island with the black chocobo in World 1 have them as a rare drop. High damage axes that can proc death that make berserkers decent for a long time .

I think everyone killed their mandatory 'zerker ahead of sandworm, as is tradition. I remember doing it with mine alive: it's not bad if your other class options are good.

Yea and they're already on World 3. Had to step away for a bit but this is a pretty strong party with Time Mage + Bard.

Neo ExDeath has fallen for the first time. Geomancer: the worst class or too strong plz nerf depending on where you're standing. Bard and Time Mage, holding Geomancer on their shoulders.

Hah, in the ship graveyard. Had to look up where this fabled flail was. Now I have one whole character whose guaranteed to do double digit damage to non-undead. We cooking with fire now, but not the !Black spell, of course.

Gonna grind a few levels since these are the only enemies I can kill quickly until I get Summoner.
...and I have to grind down Garula to get there. On the upside, I can't die and that'll be the most challenge I face on this run.

A triple crown is pretty doable with that load-out.
The Karnak 500 is pretty pulse-pounding when you're stuck watching summon animations to do damage and any back attack is potentially lethal. Still got the goods with 38 seconds to spare! Given the sheer squishiness of my team, every Elven Mantle is worth its weight in gold...

In Meat Castle right now myself. Bard is still pretty useless, but I've got all 7 pianos so far, so that'll change once I push ExDeath's face in and drop into the Phantom Village for Piano #8 and then get the actually good songs.
White Mage and Summoner are more than enough to carry a run, but good God is this party squishy as hell. I've been stubbornly trying to put Dancer in the front row and while getting to use the attack command for the first time since the Wind Crystal is pretty nice, Dancers are as durable as wet tissue paper. This is to say that they are more durable than Bards.

Minotaur is going to be a pain because it's just gonna be Dancer and Bard going at him with daggers(gonna have to fish for Sword Dances lol), but I gotta do it because I want that sweet, sweet Holy...

Edit: LMAO it's incredible how ruthlessly Summoner dominates ExDeath. Golem and Carbuncle just completely shut him down.

Currently farming Black Flames as they are easy gil and ABP in W1 and this run is at a point where the unfun levels are manageable. I'm jettisoning Monk as soon as I get my 5th job. Chakra is technically a heal, so I guess I might have to think about it. Maybe I'll get rid of Thief as it's pretty late by the time 5th job rolls around, and I should have plenty of good steals by then. Will probably grind until at least my 2 Ninjas have Throw so I can swap classes around so everyone has Throw until Earth Job, but I really should grind until everyone has Throw as throw is going to carry for a while.

I got Dragoon as my 4th Job and I just got the Submarine. This run has been hilarious. Spent time farming Twin Lances and Ruby Rings. About to get the Chicken Knife. I hope that my 5th job is good enough to sub out Monk (please be a spellcaster) because Monk is an awful Job, and Thief is purely for Steal. Dragoon isn't going to do much unless my 4th job is Mystic Knight as well.

tldr: Ninja is carrying the hell out of this run.

In the Rift. White Mage/Summoner/Bard/Dancer. Nobody can survive anything but Air Knife-boosted Syldra and Chicken Dancing go a long way towards mitigating the problem. Golem/Shell is the only way this party survives long enough to heal/for Bard stuff.
Was breezing through the Rift until Catastrophe hit me with back-to-back Earth Shakers, killing everyone.

Aww yeah! For as much as this party was always at risk of eating it to a Back Attack, ExDeath himself didn't stand a chance. Shell+Hero's Rime +Curaga let me just completely no-sell Almagest, and if he can't get you with that , he's just not gonna do anything. And, of course, Summoner and Dancer bring all the offense you could ever need.

Not done with this file yet though! Just gotta prime the Wonder Wand and Shinryu will go done like the total chump he is. And I'll stop back in Karnak, load up on Thunder Rods, and snap 'em in Omega's face with my Summoner will the others sing it sweet nothings. Lord knows I have to take it slow, because there's very little Omega does that this party can survive.

...I only got two tablets, because screw the Deep Sea Vent, that place is miserable and Leviathan blows in this game anyway.
