On a hot summer night, would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?
I bet you say that to all the boys...
Hydrocity sounds cooler, but Ive been saying hydro-city since I was kid. It kind of just stuck.

There's a plausible argument for either, but I've always said it like velocity. Didn't even occur to me to say it any other way until I saw discourse about it online.

I always said hydrocity as in atrocity since that is what it is a water based affront to gods grace.

Strange way to pronounce "Labyrinth Zone"...
Kill 1 man: You are a murderer. Kill 10 men: You are a monster.
Kill 100 men: You are a hero. Kill 10,000 men, you are a conqueror!
It's clearly NOT a city, so hydrocity.

But by that logic it can't be hydrocity either, because that's not a real word. So the name is wrong no matter what.

On the other hand, it is pretty clearly supposed to be a ruined underwater city (albeit rendered in 90s graphics), so you'd be objectively wrong regardless.

It's a shame that the Japanese name for it is just a bad transliteration from English, otherwise the implied context would be obvious.

But the fact that every other zone name is a compound name (Angel Island, Marble Garden, Carnival Night) has implications .

Of course it's not a real word. It's a portmanteau of hydro and velocity, two apt descriptors for the zone.

I don't think that's clear at all. It could be a ruined city, it could also be a flooded temple or a big cistern or whatever. The Sonic 3 manual just describes it as "the under-water regions of the island".
Coming in here with no context as to what that word meant, my instinct was to rhyme it with "velocity."
I'm not a fan of this, personally.
2. If they wanted me to say it like the first option, they should have used a space or hyphen.
