yeah i have no idea how he somehow got "reddit" from you just explaining how this specific website works

for someone using a 20 year old account, making them presumably at least 20 years old, they sure do act like they're 5.
Wow you are bad at a math. I didn't know Gamefaqs accounts were assigned at birth! You are just one of those people who can't handle being confront with facts and the truth. Most people on Reddit who talk about games act a certain way. Which is exactly how that user was reply with. Delusions of Grandeur. Believing in there own Narcissist mindset. Traits of sociopathic tendencies and believing a made up fact /lie they tell themselves is true. Also trolling just to troll because 1183 sad people never played one of the greatest games ever.

Especially from someone with a 20 year old account who's causing all the drama. Which means Agesboy is at least mid 40's or higher.

They aren't assigned at birth, but they are created some time after it, unless you inherited the account from a parent or something. The owner of a 20-year-old account can be very safely assumed to be a minimum of 20 years old, and in all likelihood is probably 30+ (the only way to be under 33 would be to have created the account while underage).

And now I block you and never think of you again. Btw Chrono trigger will forever been a 10/10 game. It's you who's acting 5 because you lost the argument. I'm the winner. Bye bye now :D

DVDs are not quite obsolete. recently helped my family get an RCA to HDMI converter so that they can hookup their DVD player to their TV. and yes this includes some kids, who use computers that have CD/DVD drives and systems like GameCube or Wii that also take discs. my oldest nephew has played through and beat all of Metroid 1-5 and wants to do the same with Metroid Prime.
This day is gone. We can't relive it. It's gone forever.

Cool story bro... hey what's that got to do with Chrono Trigger and people not caring about physical media? LOL

Get upset. It doesn't change what's going on. We live in a streaming world now. 40 million users doesn't mean they are all active. I'd be a user since I used it once. YUP
it actually fits in well with your dumb logic of 8 billion people needing to have purchased a paw patrol dvd, since they've had over 6 billion rentals.

which is also demonstrates you are wrong, considering they passed 1 billion rentals in 2010, which was your magic number when physical media supposedly died.

which means, since math is hard for you, over 5 billion rentals since 2010.

Redbox revolutionized the way Americans rent movies when it was founded in 2002 on the belief that consumers deserved a convenient way to rent new-release movies at a low nightly price. Soon after testing began within McDonalds Ventures LLC, Redbox started counting its locations and rentals by the hundreds instead of the handfuls. During the peak period of installations, new kiosks appeared every hour, every day, 365 days a year to keep up with retailer interest and customer demand. In 2010, Redbox rented its 1 billionth disc and also started renting Blu-ray Discs.

Today, Redbox is located at some of the largest retailers nationwide, where Americans have rented more than 6 billion discs. The Redbox team works hard every day in your local communities to uphold our promise to bring you a constantly updated selection of the newest hit movies.
https://www.redbox.com/about

we can actually extrapolate some good key notes from this. founded in 2002, it took 8 years to reach 1 billion rentals, and then it exploded in popularity with exponential growth since 2010. if 8 years is 1 billion, they should only have gained about 1.5 more billion in the next 14, or even died entirely if we go off of your misguided attempt at trolling.

Maximothelad posted...

First off, that's US sales only, so the denominator would be 330 million, not 8 billion.

Second, there's not a single product ever sold that can reasonably be evaluated in terms of attach rate for the entire population of humans, especially not when looking at sales in one week (attach rate looks at total sales).

Third, my case is not that DVDs are still super popular, nor has it ever been (you'll notice I've explicitly acknowledged that streaming is the dominant format). My case is that you're incorrect to say that 0 people born after 2010 have used a DVD. Making that case merely relies on finding that more than 0 people born after 2010 have used a DVD.

9296 is greater than 0. Quod erat demonstrandum.

it would be kind of cool if squeenix would release an "expansion" for it or something. they kind of arguably did with the DS version, but i mean more along the lines of lord of destruction to diablo 2 with a whole new map and added storyline.

i wouldn't mind seeing this kind of thing happen to a few old games actually. like the cards that added extra levels to SMB3 for the GBA were the coolest shit ever, the only downside was that the US only got a fraction of what japan did and that they were physical cards and doomed to be obnoxious due to that.

Indeed. I'm not about to waste my time digging up new sources and hoping you'll approve of them, operating with zero guidance because you're unwilling to specify what the problems are with the sources I found. If you want to insist you have an actually valid point, you're going to have to provide sources of your own that you consider more credible than what I've given and explain why they're more valid.

FF8 is no where close to being Sqaurrsoft peak nor is it better than Chrono Trigger.

I can understand liking FF8 better than Chrono Trigger just because it does something different. Whether or not you like that different is a matter of personal opinion, but compared to other JRPGs Chrono Trigger is pretty standard. That's largely because it set many of the standards for other games in the genre that followed, but the unfortunate reality is that recognizing a game's legacy doesn't make it more enjoyable to play than a sea of successors that have built on that legacy, and even if it was unique/original when it came out, it no longer feels that way because of its influence on the genre.

Trolls like to troll for no reason. Everyone knows FF8 was the worst FF ever made until FF13. It's not even up to debate. It didn't get better with age. It's an awful awful game . Chrono Trigger is pure delight . FF8 is a tedious chore with a forgettable cast dealing with a bad Korean Soap Opera Drama script and space witches.... yeah. But the intro was amazing. That's it though.

It wasn't really that unique. The positioning thing was all that really set it apart from other ATB games, and positional bonuses in turn-based games have shown up many times before and since then. It was still well-made, it just doesn't really stand out by modern standards.
