Man's best friend has appeared in many forms throughout video games. Pick one.

Personally, I think Rush of the Mega Man games would be a trusty companion. Friendly, many different functions, and--to my knowledge--doesn't need to poop.

Mine would probably have to be one of the wolf companions in Far Cry Primal, though I rarely used them. I just haven't played many games with pet dogs in them.

Sure, but she's a wolf tengu instead of a komainu or doggo, and the tengu are by no means pet material. Just like Enoko, a separate kind of wolf, is not pet material.

You can call Scratch from BG3 from anywhere by squeaking a ball, and if he dies you can just call him back after resting for an hour

None, the ones I like to befriend would be too intelligent to call pets (such as Duck Hunt Dog and Repede), or too dumb/mischievous to deal with for me personally (like most real dogs. I'm not really a dog person, to be honest.)
