Pokemon scarlet look shit
I'm not sure what you mean? The battles are the same as they've always been.

I like battling in the overworld. It makes it feel more real, I guess. I have lost sight of a Pokmon before , but my Pokmon didnt, so it didnt matter much Not to mention, as long as I can see the health, Im good
It put you in an arena for every battle? No, not the arena location - but you can see the difference in perspective, model detail, environment detail etc. SwSh looked better.
This is what I mean though, things like this just ruin immersion for me. And just makes me think surely they could have ironed this out to at least make the environments look better and not so washed out or the Pokmon models themselves pop somehow

The point of view looks different based on all the screenshots. All the previously released Pokemon games on switch look way better also...

This is what Im talking about for example. I know the camera can be rotated here but its still not the greatest, and add to that the textures of the environment in the battles dont look as good as those in SwSh and I think you can see what Im talking about. Looks like a downgrade.right, so the free cam. if you don't touch the right stick after an attack, it'll reset to the 'behind your pokemon' view. yeah, it isn't an arena like in Sword/Shield. idk I skipped Sword/Shield. I like that the battle stays in the overworld, personally.

lol pokemon fans will complain about anythingThe opposite imo. Pokemon fans have been acclaiming their games despite being obviously rushed since gen 6.

Ngl that actually makes the game a lot more bearable now

Maybe they'll extend that 1 year development cycle.
And here's the thing. I'm actually having fun while playing it. But I recognize that it is a deeply deeply flawed game that was nowhere close to being in a releasable state.i have a good friend that loves pokemon as much as me but they absolutely shut down when faced with any sort of criticism. happened with swsh, not gonna try it with them with SV
This is what I mean though, things like this just ruin immersion for me. And just makes me think surely they could have ironed this out to at least make the environments look better and not so washed out or the Pokmon models themselves pop somehowIt ruins the immersion for you as opposed to teleporting you to an arena that doesnt look anything like the area you were just standing on besides the terrain?

Looks like a downgrade. This is... exactly what the players wanted. For years they have been asking for GF to move away from traditional games and the games media universally praised PLA. Monkey's paw applies and because GF could barely strap together the Gen 6 and 7 games, of course they could barely strap together an open world Pokemon game. Hell look at the disaster that was BDSP. It was a mess of a game and it wasn't even a "real" 3D game.

The fps in some of these battles is horrible.
Like sub-10 fps.
I see new j rose video, I say goodbye to 1.5 hrs of my life happilySame. I have seen basically every one of his challenge videos.
