Seriously though, do Americans just blow off the fact that there's gunfire everywhere? I'm shocked and a little admiring of his apathy toward the situation. O_o

How do you get the idea that there is "gunfire everywhere"? I live in one of the most dangerous US cities, and I'm still 1000 times more likely to be in an automobile accident than to ever even hear any gunfire.

There are countries where kids grow up in actual war zones. What's a little gun fire?
I'm snotty because I prefer freshly cooked food that isn't full of fillers and/or preservatives.ha

39 and except for the one time I went to a firing range to shoot a bunch of guns including a silenced pistol 6 months, I've never been around gunfire either. But I'd rather be accustomed to the register of a gun so I can react appropriately and quickly instead of standing around wondering what to do.

I have. But I'm in the military. And my dad was. And my mom's a cop. And lots of my family is actually military. Most of that is gun range, though. Oh. And then what happened at my middle school.
