Most families seem broken, and look what kind of mess we're in.

Not really, no. I don't know that many people who were divorced or the children of divorced parents. A few of my most-liberal friends were the children of single moms, but that's to be expected since toxic femininity tends to inform peoples' worldviews like that.

There are precious few at ease / With moral ambiguities / So we act as though they don't exist.
Most older adults I know don't come from broken homes but most 20 and younger do.
No, somehow most of the people I know have large, intact, loving families. That crap freaks me out, I just can't imagine being lucky enough to have that.

All mimsy were the borogoves, and the mome raths outgrabe.
I don't know a single person from a broken family. The closest is my mother's friend who got a divorce.

No. Most of my friends didn't have divorced parents, and many had dads with good jobs and the moms stayed at home.

"Broken" seems a disproportionate and outdated term these days. An early divorce/parental breakup is par for the course these days but it hardly means you won't turn out ok or had a good childhood.

It depends. What do you mean by broken? Like a family who has gone through a divorce? Or like a family who has like actual problems and such?
