4, but the GameCube version is the worst of the many releases of it. Idk why you mention it like it was only on GameCube or that was the difinitive version.

Obviously PC is the definitive version. Gamecube was its big thing, the claim to fame.

4 is probably the best.

I really like ideas and concepts from 2 and Veronica, but always hated the older RE controls. At least Darkside Chronicles is a thing.

1-4 are all great though. Haven't played much of the others.

1 and 2 I have the fondest memories of.

I prefer to separate the Classic series and 4-onward given how radically different the games in tone and playstyle.

That being said, any of the original "classic" games I believe to be superior to any of the "run-and-gun" Resident Evils (starting with the so-called "4"). However, Code:Veronica is my personal favorite. I never played any "ReMakes", but I did enjoy the original as well as the Director's Cut version.

It's kind of funny to think that 4 was originally meant to be a GameCube exclusive, and instead it's now like the most ported game since 2005 except Minecraft.

I voted for 4 since it's the only one I've played and only one I might ever play

i voted for 2 but not the 64 one because of the bad audio and cutscene.

but come on you had outbreak, survivor, gaiden, Degeneration .
