In terms of first viewing, I think they're about even. The first stands up for a rewatch, though, while I'm not sure that'll be true for the second. Only time will tell, I guess.

This why I am conflicted... The first was original and took a huge risk against the flow of dark Comic Book movies. The second was more of the same but left me with feels ;-;

i felt the music in the second one wasn't as good as the first one. and the second focus to much on family. There are other thing i really didn't like about the second one but it's spoiler material. Overall the second one was boring.

I like 2 more because of Baby Groot , but I think 2 makes more sense if you watch 1 first.
Been a murder, over in Riften. Some old lady who runs an orphanage. Those poor children must be heartbroken.

That is definitely true. They spend absolutely no time introducing old characters in the second one, so watching them out of order would be quite suboptimal.

They're my two favorite MCU movies, for sure, but I think the first movie wins. I enjoyed seeing how all the characters developed (I was, as most people were, unfamiliar with them until the movie came out). Drax's (unintentional) wordplay was fantastic, and that scene with Groot's smile towards the end was wonderful. I also get choked up every time I see the scene where Groot protects everyone at the end, whereas I don't get choked up at all watching the second movie.

think i'll say the second just because I liked the villain more. other than that about the same.

First one, but the second is still really fun

The part where Rocket is with Groot, Yondu, and the other ravager and he makes their ship do way too many jumps and they all start looking distorted and screaming still makes me laugh every time
