No. I wouldn't ask for a single penny.

I can make my own money. The idea of receiving charity, handouts of any kind has never appealed to me; in fact I loathe it.

i'd probably make a joke along the lines of "could you spot me a couple mil?" but I wouldn't be serious, but in all seriousness if they offered anything I wouldn't likely turn it down unless it was a family member I didn't like. (hate feeling like im in debt to someone as it is, but feeling in debt to someone you dislike is hell for me)

conversely though if I hit the lottery i'd be pretty stingy with my money, if you ain't my mother, brother, niece or best friend (whom i've known so long hes basically another brother) then get the fuck away from me..

Depends on who they are, how much they won, and why I might need it. If my parents won the lotto, I'd kinda expect some trickle-down lottonomics.

I wouldn't ask, and since I've helped with finances in the past I'd be fairly certain some of it would trickle my way.

Many members of my family have won the lotto. Granted it has only been a small amount but the same notion applies in that I've never asked them for a share of it. If they ever offered to throw cash my way I don't turn it down but I also don't beg for it either.

I'd expect it from certain people, but not others. The only people I'd outright ask for it from would be my parents, because we have a dynamic where that would be acceptable (and they'd do it without me asking anyway).

Honestly, no. I could use some money as finances are tight, but I'm not that close to my family outside of my parents. So I'd not want to give them the impression that I'm just wanting to leech off them. Since contacting anyone out of the blue like that would easily give that impression. If it were my parents I'd jokingly ask, but that's stuff we do anyways. We joke around. Though knowing how they are, they'd give me a hefty sum of it anyways. Even if I'd feel like shit taking it. My dad is one if he wants to give you money he will not take no for an answer.

Basically the close family I have in my life now would get a cut. The rest not a chance simply because they are nowhere to be found now so why should I care?

I was thinking about the firth choice, "No, in fact i'd RETURN the money if they tried!". Part of me was leaning toward this but dunno in what situations would it come up. Perhaps if pride or a not wanting that feeling of owing said family member was an issue I might object or return said money.

There is some bad blood between one cousin and his father with my family so I doubt he or his father will ever want to share any money with us. Still, if by some chance they decide to do so, given the things they have done and said to us in the past, I honestly am not sure if I'll want to accept said money.
