Do you think people like Karla should be granted a pathway to citizenship without having to leave?
Nope. No exceptions. I mean you can't have one rule for one and a different rule for others otherwise that'll open the floodgates for more to slip through the net.
Edit: She's cute though.
If she has been here for 12 years, how has she not become a citizen yet?
Her parents had the opportunity but chose not to do this.

She got here when she was 6, dude. You want her to marry for citizenship at, what, 12 years old? That's crazy talk!
That's really stupid bro.

Parents can file citizenship paperwork for their children.
People can't just come here, file a paper, and turn their kid into a citizen.
Marriage is the only reasonable way for them to become citizens.
They could plead asylum or an employer could sponsor their 14 year old ass, but that's not likely to fly.
Oh?
Except it's not by any stretch. If they married and applied for citizenship, they'd be deported and probably for a lot longer than they require people on an expired visa who marry to leave.
She's 18. She's been working at least 2 years according to the article, probably more on top of that. She's also a student which means, in theory, she COULD have chosen to apply for a student visa (which again would likely involve her leaving the country until it was approved) which from there she might have applied for permanent status.
Sending an 18-year-old girl to a third world shithole through no fault of her own along with 800,000 other kids.
The US is founded on legally kidnapped slaves and stolen land
This is just an example of Republicans being literally the worst of the worst candidates imaginable, and it basically solidifies me as a life long Democrat. He's holding them for ransom for his wall.

Working around is different from having an employer sponsor you for citizenship. They use the phrase "highly educated" about every other sentence to make sure you know it's not for everyone.
But yeah, I guess she could have moved to El Salvador for a few years and wrap herself up in the legal work when she was 14... gosh you play hardball.
People seem to think they belong here because they were born here. You did nothing to be here. You deserve to be here less than the people that worked their asses off to get here.
to be a Democrat
But sure, the US did not financially benefit from slavery and we acquired land from the natives by perfectly ethical means and didn't screw them over whatsoever.
Why, because you don't believe in the death penalty?

You seem like the kind of person who would get a coworker fired because they broke some rule that doesn't affect you.
Guess you missed my edit, but that wouldn't be an issue if her mother -- the same mother who inconvenienced her by illegally moving to the US in the first place -- had fucking done the paperwork. If you're a kid and you're getting evicted because your parents forgot to pay the bills, it's not the fucking bank's fault. Likewise, if your parent illegally moved you here and then stupidly chose to not pursue citizenship, that's on them.
Maybe DACA should end but people who were protected under it originally shouldnt be deported unless they have criminal record.

I'll take silly white/black absolutes for $100, Alex.
Going for a weird non sequitur? Or just trying to create a lame defense for your SJW nonsense which is polluting the Democratic party?
That's not touching upon the inherent racism of looking down on their nation like that.

Seems excessive considering DACA was supposed to protect against the consequences.
It's really only that the rug is being pulled out from under them that anyone is bothered.

So you admit the US definitely has its hands dirty when it comes to immigration to a reasonable extent? If not, it is yours, Rush
You can dance around it all you want, but you're definitely a very shitty Democrat because you have a serious track record for
A) Agreeing with most Republicans on most issues
B) Disagreeing with most Democrats on most issues
In almost every single topic, so I don't know what weird mind game you're trying to play calling yourself a Democrat, like you'd ever vote for a Democrat in your life. Maybe one of the neoliberal ones that even Icoyar is right to hate.
You also have this terrible tendency to call dumb little things "SJW", like me trying to talk about how the US has its hands dirty on immigration, and advocate for (gasp) immigrant children being granted amnesty for crimes they didn't commit! But then go on to say the most SJW-esk statement such as
Because now calling third world shit-holes third world shit-holes because they are poor and bad places to live is racist. You're a bloody SJW when it's convenient. That's what you'd call "virtue signalling", and I can think of no other reason why you'd do it other than to show me how it's done, to bloody show me what "pretending to be a good person" really means.
Need I talk about the inherent racism of frowning upon Russia's shortcomings? Need I talk about the inherent racism of calling North Korea a shit-hole? Racist
And, in general, you're virtue-signaling your white-savior complex -- trying to "save the savages because they cannot know any better!" -- which is a ridiculous racist thing to do.
Russia is a developed nation, the same as the US. If you were decrying it as a shithole, you'd be full of that shit.
Except I did vote for Democrats. For starters, I voted for a REAL Democrat in the primaries when I supported Hillary Clinton over Bernie moondog Sanders, a man who only registered as a Democrat to run on a major party's ticket. He could have run as a Republican for all the faith he kept.
And, unlike Bernie Sanders and even Hillary Clinton (and also Donald Trump), I've only ever had ONE affiliation to a party and I've been a Democrat far longer than Bernie has.
(despite the fact that they did commit and benefit from it; however, even if they didn't commit it,
they're still enjoying ill-gotten gains so restitution must be made to get everybody whole -- which, in this case, involves putting things right by returning them to their home country. It's the same if parents robbed somebody then gave the property to their kids. The law would still return that property to its rightful owners rather than let the kids keep it because *you* somehow feel they've become entitled to it)

DACA shouldn't have existed in the first place.

2) To answer Melon's remark, I meant that he read my post *before* the edit went through. I wasn't suggesting people go back and read it although I expect Melon already knew that.
