I loved the books as a kid/early teen.

Yes, books, show, and now the film. Granted, the books are poorly written YA genre trash, but I still liked them as a kid and they aren't torturous to revisit for nostalgia as an adult. (Spooksville, on the other hand, reads a lot worse than I remembered.)

No, I had better taste than that when I was 8.
I dislike the concept of a story where the villain is plain undefeatable or you know the ending is going to be bad before you even begin it.

Even for a horror story I'd like there to be suspension of disbelief and for the villain to have to follow certain rules, instead of it just being some all powerful force that doesn't follow any real rules.

Hell yeah, used to watch that shit every day after school. Can't remember which channel it aired on over here in South America, I think it was Discovery Kids but I'm not sure.

The show was just Are You Afraid of the Dark? for pussies.

Oh yes. I loved them when I was young. Well....they weren't written well, but at that age, I loved them.

bad show.

i was reading at a high school level (at least) by the time i was in 5th grade. disn't bother with those kid books
Yes, the books were the obsession of myself and my classmates for years in elementary school. Those were the days when kids were excited for books.
Everything is awesome
I loved it as a kid, and even enjoyed the jack black movie. I'm just surprised no one has mentioned the choose your own adventure Goosebumps books. They were the absolute best

I must have, cause from just seeing the dog on the thumbnail, it's like I already knew I used to watch this show when I was a kid. And the intro sequence seems to be recorded in a far off corridor of my brain, even though I wouldn't have been able to remember any of it, but as the music plays and the images change I remember it all looking/sounding exactly like this, without remembering any key details or characters from the show.

That's kinda creepy.

Absolutely loved all of them.

Was more of a fan of Are You Afraid of the Dark. But I did buy the complete Goosebumps book set like 10 years ago to read through them. Some stories are decent, a good number are bleh.

Those were great. Some of the endings were pretty brutal.
I think I had most, if not all of the main books up to the point where I stopped reading them (at least 40, possibily 50 or 60 of them) and several of the CYOA ones.
And as her clothes all tumbled 'round her, I could hear my heart
The moonlight shown upon her as she lay back in my bed
I said yes, but the only one I ever really loved was the first CYOA book in the museum.

Read almost all of them as a kid, including the CYOA ones. Read most of Fear Street as well.
I love the Power Glove. It's so bad ---

No, as far as books I was more into The Boxcar Children at the time, and as far as TV shows I preferred Are You Afraid of the Dark.

Didn't even know there was a movie.
I am a senior software engineer. If you see me post here, I am tired of writing TPS reports.
I had all of the original series except for like 4 or 5 books. I distinctly remember not having #17 about the Bees. Never did get my hands on that one.
Never read the books or seen the show. Seems a bit before my time

Not really, I was outside the age group when the books first came out and had read better horror/suspense books before they came out.
"Did" I? I kinda feel like I always will. ESPECIALLY the CYOA ones. Some of those endings just... stay with you! Like especially in the magician one, the crossroads with the worm girl...
The books were fun, but I got turned off the show.

How did that end up?

Nope; didn't read the books, and didn't even know it was a show.

My younger brothers really loved the books, though.

Kinda this, I liked them at first but when every story ended bad it got sucky for me.
This is my signature, there are many others like it, but this one is mine.
If you take 110% of what I say seriously then you're gonna have a bad time.
I can agree with that. The weird endings kinda bothered me. I still liked the mummy book, though. The thing I liked about Goosebumps books in elementary school is that they were just long enough for Accelerated Reader, but just short enough that I could actually read them in a school week.
No, but I liked Are You Afraid of the Dark? .

I liked the books and read about all of them that were in my schools library in a school year. Then the next year I lost interest in reading the rest of them and read LOTR instead.

That was my favorite one too. Still have that one somewhere in my room.

Also the fact Adam West played the Galloping Gazelle in the show was awesome
