This 16 y/o Half JAPANESE Girl is now a NY Model because she's TALL and CURVY!!!

16 y/o Half Japanese, Natalie Nootenboom has signed on to a New York PLUS SIZE Modelling Agency as she's taking the modelling world by storm with her "curves"!!

The stunning teenager was bullied for her weight and is now walking the runways and has been in numerous fashion spreads.

She happens to be the niece of DJ Steve Aoki as Natalie says she was bullied because she is "taller, bigger and more awkward than what Asian girls are typically expected to be" and now hope she can overturn these stereotypes

She's a Size 12 who has a japanese mother and an american father and explained how asian girls are stereotypically supposed to be "petite", "shy" and "skinny"..and one girl claimed that Natalie had STRETCHED her clothes after borrowing them

Natalie says "The norm for Asian girls is to be, you know, petite, cute and skinny. But growing up, i was kind of taller, bigger and more awkward. I was the opposite of what people expected me to be and so i really wantt o use my platform to say, you know what? We're all different. We can't build a mould and expect people to all fit that mould"

Natalie says she feels like she's "stuck in the middle", bigger than most catwalk models but slimmer than traditional plus size models. But she's embracing her size and says that everyone is diverse and different in theeir own way.

Beyond her ambition as a model however, Natalie hopes she can be a novelist and a musician

Skinny? Usually. Short? Much of the time. Shy? I don't really expect that. Granted, it also depends on which kinds of Asians we're talking about. Not all nations tend to have thin women, Indians for instance average on the plumper side.

That looks more like she's just letting her face be relaxed, not being concerned to have her mouth stay closed, which would be the opposite of even making a face, to me.

Cause the optimum comfort of facial muscles is the lack of even using them, which causes mouth-breathing but who cares, IMO. Give me a valium and that's what my face does

except for the being a sexy female part

It's kind of a niche. I mean some big girls have it going on. I thought this topic was kind of coincidental since this morning I opened up Opera and this news feed thing was talking about how these Korean girls were doing plus sized modeling. And they weren't too bad, until it had a picture of them sitting down and chowing down on a bunch of junk food. Gross. And then Zeus's point was made. Why normalize obesity.

Otherwise I mean whatever floats your boat, just don't bring along the plus sized models, lest you end up sinking it

I don't see why the chick in the OP should even be considered plus size though. In comparison to our unnaturally skinny models though, I guess the only place she could get on is a plus sized agency. She's fairly attractive from what I can see

It's absolutely true that obesity should not be glorified or celebrated, but there's a middle ground between "overweight" and "obese." To say nothing of the issue with most models being extremely slim, many people (in America at least) are a little bigger than normal, while not really being what you'd call fat. I don't see anything wrong with people of this girl's size modeling, for example.

not just america. we aren't even number 1 on obesity. now we have a larger population compared to the countries that to the US on it, so overall there are probably more here that much is true. think last I checked america's obesity percentage was 35% of the population while come countries are over 50
