Yeah i love it. I personally think the spin off is gonna do much better though. Just seems to be a little more on the serious side, going by the trailers. But i agree, the laugh track is so 90's. :p
i personally never got tbbt, i like seinfeld a lot more, my favorite sitcom of all time.

The problem with the show is that without the laugh track it wouldn't be able to fool anybody into laughing with it...

You've been Zimbabweed
It's not great by any means, but at its worst it's no more deserving of the vehement hatred it gets than any other bland sitcom with a laugh track.
No, because I have a brain. The only way the show was ever interesting was the clips on YouTube with the laugh track dubbed out. It really hits home how moronic and sheep-oriented this turd is.
I wouldn't say I am a fan since I haven't seen it in like 4 or 5 seasons, but I wouldn't complain if someone put it on.

If you are going to complain about that then you might as well complain about every sitcom before 2005 being crap. They are all literally tailored to be listened to with a laugh track and removing it makes all of them less funny. It is a technique that has existed since the 50's so why single The Big Bang Theory out for it?

That's only true if you aren't bright enough to be able to tell the difference and just go along with it. Not all laugh track shows are created equally, though most of them are utter garbage made for the lowest common denominator. The only shows with a live audience or laugh track I found watchable, off the top of my head, were Fresh Prince and Seinfeld, but even then I had a tendency to roll my eyes when "everyone laughed" at something stupid.
Do you consider yourself a fan?

If there was no laugh track it'd be like watching Poll of the Day.

Wife was all about it when she thought Sheldon & Penny were eventually going to hook up

I've honestly never understood where people got this notion from. With the exception of "The Intimacy Acceleration", which I think is just nod to this nonsense, there's never been any romance between the two.

probably people thinking something is to be expected simply because it would be a big twist.

Lol, TBBT would be going for those Game of Thrones twist's.
Link_of_time posted...Yeah, the only time the show's felt cringey to me were a couple of the times they had penny try to be nerdy or do nerdy things.

I actually never expected her to hook up with anyone. always assumed she would remain that dumb blonde across the hall just so the show had one seemingly normal person in the cast.
Possibly the most disgraceful show of all time
No.
They spew fake "science facts" sometimes and I legitimately think the show isn't funny.
Damn man, what about Married With Children?!

When I was in my teens I enjoyed watching that show almost everyday.
The jokes got kinda samey eventually though.
Al joking about Marcy's chest being so flat, the crowd always getting excited when Kelly does anything sexual, Bud's masturbation, Peg's mother being extremely fat, Al hating his life, etc.

thats part of the fun though, seeing people thinking they are smart because they get the jokes. I prefer the more geek humor and by geek I mean comic books and what not. like I did legit laugh when they where discussing green lanterns weakness's and how they changed (once it was wood another time the color yellow) and he replied with a "so I can take out either with a number 2 pencil"

I guess I went into it with the wrong mentality.
I was under the impression that it was a pretty sciencey show. And was curious how they could incorporate legitimate science into a sitcom.
But when the "science" was mostly jargon, I lost interest fast.
(Also some fans still act like the show is smart af, and they're smart for watching it. I guess that can be seen as a humorous irony in itself)
That green lantern joke is pretty funny.
I've heard someone describe it as "nerd blackface" and I agree with that.
No. I like it but I've never gone out of my way to watch it.
