I'm glad we can get high profile gay stories in the media, but why do most of them have to be so goddamn derivative?

Because it's always the same shit in different formats. It doesn't help that I hate romantic movies when there's nothing else there. I think those sorts of things are just... bland

Was okay. I agree it's fairly derivative, considering it wouldn't play out much differently if it were a heterosexual crush story. Some might say that's the point, but it still feels pretty standard.
