Neither the guy nor the girl are "obnoxious".
But many of the previous posters in this topic are.

Which ones? If you're going to call someone out, don't half-ass it.
sad part is once he bangs her the text lengths will be reversed
Definitely her. "Ok" is so cringy! And don't even get me started on "yes" now!
Anyone who uses the word cringe to describe awkwardness is dead to me.

The guy doesn't even know she's trying to let him down easy.
I just think the guy would 100% be cringiest here, if not for the fact that the girl actually said "yes" when he point blank asked her if she liked him.
Granted, he had already said a lot of shit before getting the "yes," but still. The "yes" is at least enough to raise some questions.

exactly, Seems like two shy people dating. He just worked up the courage and now he is on faucet mode, she doesn't know what to think. She basically agreed to be his girlfriend. But being awkward and not sure what to say, she gives him a thumbs up. She probably immediately thought " oh my gosh that was so dumb, why did i give him a thumbs up, oh my gosh i want to die"

Just sounds to me like a girl who just really doesn't have the courage to let someone down even to the point of saying she liked him. Women really need to be taught to speak up more from early childhood instead of the ladylike quiet as a mouse bs

"I have read my scriptures now I'm going to pray and sleep"
This is where the guy needs to think, "bullet dodged."

5 years ago it was never used to mock awkward people.
It just has a lame wussy vibe to it, like people can't handle awkward situations.
