The first choice i keep hearing the aces should be a name of a Vegas professional team.

High Rollers also has a nice ring to it

Vegas and Gambling go hand and hand

Golden Warriors just to follow theme of their other professional team the Golden Knights

Vegas Strip is just that, the most famous area of Vegas

It happens often when sports franchises move though.
Plus I dont think NFL has any plans on expansion so getting a team there would take longer, as opposed to just moving a team.

I also think the NFL is still trying to distance itself from the whole gambling theme, so them changing to something gambling related would probably never happen, even if they wanted it to.

I like the Raiders though. I wouldn't change the name anyways.

Isn't there some kind of rule against gambling-themed names? I think that was an issue for the new NHL team, but I don't know if that was an NHL-specific rule or something bigger.


I don't think they should change it; they didn't change it when they moved to LA before and "Raiders" is generic enough that it fits anywhere. I suppose it fits better in a coastal state, but I'm not sure if the name ever came from any actual historical significance with pirates.


"Golden Warriors" seems like a further insult to the fans in Oakland, since it's similar to "Golden State Warriors", which is the Oakland-area basketball team.

Most of those teams haven't moved in their history, so there wouldn't be a reason to change them. Also, ones like the Packers, 49ers and Steelers wouldn't make any sense to keep the same if the teams actually did move.
