It sort of depends what kind of area you're moving from, and where you'd be moving to. I'm guessing Auckland for the latter? The city's got a bit of a problem with sprawl and housing prices since so many people move here from overseas, and the city's infrastructure has struggled to keep up with the rapid growth (and wages aren't as high as other areas, as you say, which doesn't help with the housing issue).

But even in our biggest city, the air is generally a lot cleaner here than other countries like the US, you're surrounded by beaches, there are parks everywhere that are never too crowded, and people are generally pretty chill. The weather doesn't get too hot or cold and everything is green year-round (I hadn't realised how sparse winters in the US were until I visited recently and everything was dead. Auckland has evergreens everywhere). There's a lot to appreciate if you enjoy the outdoors.

We have our own share of political issues, like any country, but seeing news reports of what's happening in other countries (not just in the pandemic, but in general) reminds me that we're pretty well-off overall.
