i went home (that is, to my parents' house) earlier this week, and i couldn't help but to take the long way (down from the upper peninsula instead of up through illinois and indiana).
i saw munising falls (

it's a beautiful place, but very empty. you can drive for hundreds of miles without seeing anyone or anything but countless trees. also, lots of blackflies. open the following image at your own risk:
