So I do most of my shopping at a local mini store, where they hired a 60 year old bagger today who wouldn't let my doggy in because he said there were cameras and dogs weren't allowed and he probably didn't want to lose his job by allowing a dog into the store. My doggy's pretty much my only company and probably the collection of matter which I love most in this universe, and the owners of the store have no problem with her going in because she's a very smart, very human doggy. The owners love her, but of course the new bagger didn't know this, so when I said, "oh, don't worry, Laika's allowed here", he refused and instead blocked the door like a Zelda guard.

So naturally i became very upset when this new bagger not only didn't let her come inside the store, but also stomped the floor when my doggy tried to run in and inadvertedly hurt her. She gave sort of a yelp and I just flipped. I told him he was mad, that only someone cruel would hurt a doggy, and shouted at him for like 30 seconds, paid and walked out.

I was still very pissed when I got home and very afraid that my doggy had been harmed, as she was sort of hit on the stomach, and I was in a rush and went back into the delhi to shout some more at this guy. When I got there he was already being scolded by the owners and he had a very panicked look on his face, and a very different attitude. I shouted at him, would you do that to a 7 year old kid? You know you hit her (after careful consideration, I don't think he did, but I was very upset at the time), you heard my dog yelp. He sincerely apologized and looked to be in a panic. The owners of the store let me have a go at him verbally for a while, and I kept shouting, because I was very upset, but ultimately I calmed down, accepted his apology, and told him I wished he was right that Laica wasn't hurt.

I don't think he was a violent man, just somebody very old living in a very poor city, probably at a very real risk of going homeless who just wanted to do his job right. And I believe he was very sincere about his apology, which is why I feel so bad that he's probably going to lose his job today. On the other hand, my outburst was very instinctive, as I consider my dog to be almost my daughter. I think she isn't hurt, but I'm still paranoid. I don't think this man purposely hit her, I think it was a very accidental thing that happened.

So please help me feel better, guys.

TL;DR: The new 60-year old bagger at the store accidentally hurt my dog, I flipped, shouted at him for a while and he's probably getting fired no and now I feel really guilty
