I've had had it for 18 years now, still not really sure what caused it. It sounds like a high pitched sound deep inside my head. It bothered me a lot on the beginning but I've learned how to tune it out. Now a days it bothers me if it's extremely quiet at night when going to sleep, but even then I still fall asleep no problem.
