You get decent trade in value. If you're a pro member you get $38.50 in credit for a game you could have had for over a month, long enough to beat. You're $22 down and and gamestop makes a $17 profit reselling it if a pro member.

If a non pro member you pay $25 to play through and beat the game and gamestop makes a larger $20 profit reselling it.

Seems pretty reasonable to me.
