I don't like meta talk about forum gimmicks, it's like winking at the camera.
There might be some truth to that.
It's like the time Hulk Hogan returned to the WWE after it had purchased WCW. He attempted to lead the nWo to take over the WWE itself and repeat the success that he had for the past decade in WCW, however he discovered the superstars of the WWE were made of much sterner stuff of that of WCW's aspirants and it resulted in him getting crushed by The Rock at Wrestlemania
Unable to return to his former glory, Hulk Hogan attempted to go out on a high and retire live on Raw but WWE Chairman Vince McMahon refused to let him. Stating that Hogan was under contract and would be forced to make his commitments whether he wanted to compete or not.

What followed was a series of losses to the likes of Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, Triple H and ultimately culiminating in an absolutely brutal beatdown at the hands of a young, unstoppable and hungry Brock Lesnar.

Hogan was injured so secerely that he was left out of action until the next year and upon his return was soundly defeated by The Rock for a second time. Before being forced to leave the squared circle contract or not due to the severity of his injuries mostly sustained by Lesnar's viciousness.

You have to wonder if sometimes forcing people to do something you used to like years ago against their better judgement might just be bad for everyone involved. You gotta believe there's a reason why people don't often talk about anything related to Hulk Hogan beyond 1993.
