Theyre not lying. Its more of a delusion than it is a lie. They actually believe that they are the gender they say they are and not the gender they were born as.
Much like how Nintendo fans thought that the SNES was better because they had Mode 7 or how Sega fans thought the Genesis was better because of Blast Processing. They couldnt live in a world where the other system was better so they deluded themselves into thinking that because their console of choice had a special graphical capability that their console was better and everyone else was wrong.
