Duncanwii posted... Comets are majorly made of ice and other weak materials. It would melt and break apart in the atmosphere.
Meteorites break apart in the atmosphere as well, but if something is still large enough after all that breaking apart, like, oh I dunno, the one that wiped out the dinosaurs...
