I'm in a similar boat. I'm 30 and I've never been on a date before or even been kissed.
It's never too late to start, but the only issue is that now or perhaps soon is the fact that most of my options for dating will probably be single parents. Not trying to offend anybody, but personally not my cup of tea. I really don't want to take care of someone else's child/children. I'm not even sure if I want my own children yet to be honest. :/
The best advice I could give you is to keep searching fpr someone who won't give you any ultimatums over a simple relationship.
