The thing about the Exp. Share toggle is that it was great to have it off for the main game and on for the post game. Chances are I'm not using any of my main game Pokemon for competitive battling so there was never any grinding to be done pre-Champion, I would just catch Pokemon I like and played through while having my levels on par with the opponents' for the most part. Add in Set mode and the games, while still easy, aren't completely brainless snoozefests for the next couple dozen hours. Then in the postgame, I would turn Exp. Share on to level and EV train my team. Overall I think Exp. Share is great but it was the best of both worlds with the toggles for that and Shift/Set
