Absolutely NO flowers, and if you use cologne use a very, very small amount. Enough that if she gets close, she can barely smell it. It'll make her want to get closer and get a better whiff. YOU should be only barely able to smell it.

Typical s*** to talk about on a first date: School, work, family structure, music, recent events, a FEW (and I stress, few) subtle comments on her clothes/appearance, and of course a few jabs to make fun of her whenever possible (If she miss-pronounces something, mixes up names, screws up math). Do it in a playful way, but definitely point out her errors. If you sugar coat it as an adorable mess up she will not respect you.
I really like the comment about talking to her like a fatty best friend, that's good to an extent but remember, you're wanting to bone her, so don't make any nerd heavy references unless you are sure she'll understand them. And for the love of god don't quote any comedies, movies, or video games.
