I worked through high school and college, and had $2,000 in student debt when I graduated, which I paid off with six months before they started charging interest. I was incredibly lucky.
Would it benefit me right now if they forgave student debt? Nope, mine was paid off 17 years ago. However, I still think we should have student loan forgiveness. Not having that debt was a huge weight off my shoulders, and I would love it if more people had that same freedom that I was lucky enough to get.
