I'm gonna play devils advocate here.
You have to mention that his fiance said she almost ran over the daughter and put her into ICU so the cops are gonna get pushy to find/get evidence that the child isn't in an domestic/child abuse situation. No need to act like a tough guy and not comply, only going to make it worse.
