Or maybe they care within a certain narrow perspective but in a broader perspective that care is a 'drop in the bucket,' intrepretable as indifference but more aptly described as disheartened. Or maybe they have a strategy to help others but it can't work without the outrage caused by this. Maybe they're just saying they don't care because they want you to think hard about what it would mean to not care. Maybe gamers aren't the best people to ask about politics. Maybe some of these people are one of the alts you love to accuse them of being and they themselves are trans and the alt persona they're playing is super not-trans.
