I suppose it is 50 years old now. Thinking like when I was a kid in the 90s, the only movie I'd seen that was that old comparatively was the wizard of oz. I can also see the reception to the new ones spoiling the enthusiasm for the old ones for people who haven't seen any of them yet.
Wizard Of Oz is about a whole generation before the first Star Wars lol
