isn't he immortal? I never had him fuck me over. he can't do anything that hurts you. he can fight enemies which helps you, and if he gets hurt, he just respawns
Thing is on bosses, the bosses have invincibility frames. Lots of times, you'll jump to hit them, then Tails will hit them before you and you'll end up INSIDE the boss as the invincibility ends, taking a hit.
