I'm a Black man and I've dealt with a fair share of prejudice (which is what most people throwing racism out means 90% of the time) but little ACTUAL racism. That's because I actually knows what the word means.
Clearly you don't. Racism can be extreme or it can be subtle. It's USUALLY subtle. And prejudices based on the subject of race is racism.
OmniCloud has a point here. Racism would be like someone denying me a job because I'm black. Someone thinking I'm stupid because I'm black but otherwise having no direct power over me is an example of bigotry, not racism. Most people use the word racist to cover it all these days though.
