One million dollars? What are you, crazy? If the girl I dated was freaking rich, then yes this would be appropriate, but I really doubt it would ever happen to me. No, I'd most likely ask for something far more reasonable. I'd be asking for compensation for having to undergo therapy and not be allowed to work for a long time, as well as additional punitive damages. Depending on the case, something like $10,000 to $50,000 CAD would make more sense.
And even the criminal investigation might not be seriously pursued because it happened so long ago that there might either be a statute of limitations or it would be difficult verifying anything beyond your word that it happened.
What the hell are you taking about? Who said anything about it happening too long ago? I clearly said that if this happened to me, I would seek reparation right away once the initial shock is over.
