At least Sonic has had two good games in the last 7 years (Generations and Mania), more than can be said for Halo. Halo is barely even talked about these days, at least people still talk about Sonic.

Halo has also had at least two good games in the last 7 years. Choose any two of Halo 4, MCC, Halo 5, and Halo Wars 2. They're all good. Halo just isn't the juggernaut it once was. I think it being tied to the Xbox is a major part of that. With the next installment of Halo getting a PC release, I expect Halo to become at least a bit more popular again.
