I majored in Political Science in college and I don't think I've ever mentioned anything political here at GameFAQs because I like to talk about video games, movies and such, no politics. I am going to try to sound as neutral as possible.
First, deepest sympathies to the friends and family of RBG.
Second, I applaud for her battle against cancer and her other health concerns while on the Supreme Court. Serving on that bench cant be an easy job even for a younger/healthier person. I don't think I could have done it.
Now for the bad news. Remember how four years ago, Mitch said that we needed to wait for the new president before a new member is added? Merrick Garland should have at least had the opportunity to have his nomination voted on by the full senate. He didnt even get that far. How much you want to bet Mitch will reverse that thinking and say that that the new vacancy needs to be filled in before inauguration day?
Im sure they will come up with a list in a jiffy. If not, Im sure they can reuse the short list they had with Neil G and Brett C to expedite things.
