It's not uncommon that when people laugh at those jokes, it isn't in the spirit of "LOL YEAH THAT SURE IS TRUE!" but more laughing at how many people will be dumb enough to let it get under their skin.

If something is done for the sake of offense, be it a joke or something someone angrily shouted at you, why would you give the speaker the satisfaction of getting you angry or upset? I never do. I just give a smug smile and shrug. People get holy shit pissed off when they try to make you angry and nothing works.
