The whole make more money, spend more money is definitely true.

Going to start making a salaried income soon. I'd like to think I'm not going to be like this. The hobbies I have require a somewhat high initial cost (photography, PC gaming, biking) but aren't particularly expensive over the long run. I can't really see myself spending a whole lot on anything other than hobbies and good food (groceries and eating out). But we'll see. I've been raised to be pretty frugal with my money, so I don't splurge very often.

I guess in my case I'm eventually going to have kids when I start making quadruple of my soon-to-be income so it'll all go to them lol.

You have to properly change computer components at least every 2 years if you want to keep up with PC gaming perfectly.

PC gaming as a hobby (for me at least) is buying a really good setup initially and then changing out the graphics card every 3-4 years. I've used the same case, motherboard and i7 processor for the last 8 years. Only upgrades I've made are graphics card, another 4GB RAM, an SSD, and some stickers on the sides of my case lol.

Not everyone is concerned with playing every game "perfectly" or at max settings. If I can play at mainly high settings that's good enough for me.
