That's good, if you are having any side effect related to sexual dysfunction after beginning an ssri then it will not go away until you get off that medication.
Good news is that it's not permanent and if you switch to Effexor or another antidepressant then there shouldn't be any issues. Don't worry...your doctor will take care of it.
Another thing I recommend is calling your regular pharmacy and see if the doctor had sent it another prescription for Effexor. I can't tell you how many times a doctor has realized they sent it the wrong medication or strength, realized their mistake, and resent the correct medication later on.
