To get the basic bitch replies out of the way: I'm supporting them either way, it'll probably work out. They're in control of what they wanna do etc etc.

But basically the gist is they got a teaching license 2 years ago and has hated every second of it. Crying all the time, stressing out at all hours of the day. Can't manage the kids at all and feels embarrassed in front of her admin/colleagues despite trying different tactics.

So they've decided to go back to school to try and become a college professor that teaches teachers basically.

My gut instinct is that this is a terrible choice. Even if she becomes super well versed in the literature...I feel like with people focused jobs, if you can't manage people, there is a 0% shot you can teach others to do it. You can't teach skills you don't have.

Idk. Is that an irrational line of logic

eh. i dont think the experience is required for something like that, just stick to the curriculum/material. but honestly have no clue on how all that works. being a good teacher i think just takes a certain type of skills not really taught. kind of a gift i guess

If you feel like you can barely tread water is it worth the effort to go into the deep end?

Teaching is one of those jobs that you really have to be passionate about, or it likely won't work out.
